Latest Update

Getting back to the room at midnight and they just removed the C-Pap and we fed her 5CC of milk. She seems to be breathing just fine without the oxygen. We weighed her and she is back to her birth weight of 7 lbs 10oz.

MORE GOOD NEWS

After all the good news yesterday. We got even better news today. We woke up this morning and went down to see Harley to find that they cut out all the nitrous gas and lowered the oxygen levels to 21% which is the same as regular air. I then went home to get some work down and received a call from Emily at about 2:00. She told me that they were going to take her off of the ventilator and decrease the fentinal (pain medication). I got back to town at about 6:00 and we just went down and Emily got to hold her for the first time. The only thing she has now is a C Pap. She may be able to take that off tonight depending on the next set of blood gas results.

Thank you to everyone that has e-mailed us with there Thoughts and Prayers May have more news tonight.

More Improvments

It is 11:00 pm on Tuesday evening and we just got back from visiting Harley. There were some major improvements today. This afternoon we saw the levels in oxygen and Nitrous gas drop. Tonight they lowered the levels of Oxygen needed to 28% and the amount of Nitrous gas to 1.7 all good numbers. Her blood gasses where also right on target. Here are a couple of pictures of her. Emily was able to change her diaper twice today and give her a Vaseline rub on her legs and hands. That was very good for her to get that interaction with her.

Emily is scheduled for dismissal on Friday. However we learned that Harley may need to be here for two weeks or so. More tomorrow.

Good News

We just got some good news in from the nurses in the NICU. They just lowerd her her nitrous gas to 3 from 5 and lowered the oxygen level to 30% from 46% some dramatic changes that seem to be holding well, and her latest blood gasses were perfect. Talk to you later.

Harley Geraldine Theresa Lubben

WOW What a day. It is nearly 12 hours after Harley was born and just getting to updating everyone. Were do I start. Emily started going into labor at around 4:00 this morning. We waited until about 8:00 to go to the hospital. When we arrived at the hospital she was already a 6 dilated. She moved to a 7 in a hour and to a 8 at around 11:30. The doctor broke her water and then discovered muconeum (not sure on the spelling) We then went to a emergency C section.

At 12:30 Harley arrived. She was having trouble holding her oxygen levels were they needed to be. So she got moved to the Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit. Were they have now placed her on a ventilator to help clear some fluid in her lungs. At last check at 11:00 she was doing good. Her oxygen usage was decreasing and she was more comfortable. We will know more in 24hrs will have more pics tomorrow. Dave Emily and Harley

Ohh just about forgot she was 7 lbs 10oz and 20 1/4 long

TWO WEEKS TO GO!

Last Night we had a couple's shower for Emily and I at my brother Brads House. We had a fun evening with great food and beautiful weather. As you can about imagine Emily is very uncomfortable and doesn't sleep very well.

As for me I am just waiting for the Fields to dry up so I can get some planting done. I have a sneaking suspicion that the day it's ready to plant is the day Emily will go into labor. Oh well we'll get through it. We want to say thank you to Emily's sisters and to My Brother's for our two baby shower's. We can't thank you enough!!! The next post will have a ton of picture's I promise.

ONE MORE MONTH

Hello Everyone: We just got back from the doctor's office today. Doc said everything is good. Emily is having some pre labor pains (braxton hicks) and so the doctor is only going to let her work one more week. So Wednesday the 9th is her last day of work. That should help her out a little, it has been hard for her this last week or so. Tonight she is going through her hospital check list, and packing her hospital bags. Can you tell she is ready!!!

Can't tell you how excited we are to bring a new life into this world. Until next time see ya.
